Meeting Overview

The 5th International Biennial Meeting of Human Variome Project Consortium (HVP5) will bring together professionals from around the world who address many aspects of human genetics, to explore and share their knowledge on data sharing, interpretation of unknown variants, collaboration between developing and developed countries and much more. This biennial meeting is an update on plans, progress and opportunities for the global collection, curation, interpretation and sharing of genetic variation information. All of these areas involve the development and dissemination of standards and guidelines, ethical frameworks, and education.

HVP5 will be structured around key themes that underpin some of the activities of the Human Variome Project Consortium:

  • Assessment of pathogenicity of variants;
  • Phenotype description;
  • Translation of variant data into the Clinic (e.g., molecular diagnostics, ethics of clinical research and clinical care)
  • Databases and data curation,
  • Integration of NGS data;
  • Capacity building - Education & Training
  • Ethical, Legal & Social Issues and
  • Collaboration between developed and developing countries.

We invite abstracts in these key themes.  Abstracts that address other areas of human genetic variation also will be welcome.
